DISORDERLY CONDUCT:
Timothy Myers, 41, of Ellwood City, is charged with Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Trespassing after an incident on August 26th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 10:13 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on Young Road in Slippery Rock Township for a report of a burglary in process as a unidentified male attempted to enter the residence through the window and front door. An interview with the homeowner related he confronted the man, later identified as Myers, and that Myers left in a white pick-up truck. In a later interview with the homeowner’s daughter’s friend, she related she knew Myers and was dropped off at the residence during the night of the disturbance and that after ignoring phone calls and text messages that Myers returned to the residence and attempted to gain entry. Due to Myers leaving the scene before police arrival, he was unable to be interviewed.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT:
Christopher Hughes, 37, of Ellwood City is charged with Aggravated and Simple Assault after an incident on September 16th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 9:13 a.m., police were dispatched to an apartment on Fifth Street, in Ellwood City for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon police arrival, they located a female who was visibly beat up with a broken nose, blood on her face and swollen eyes and upon entry into the apartment saw signs of a struggle with reported blood on floors, blodd splattered through blankets and a blood soaked pillow lying next to the victim. According to the complaint, police alerted Hughes he was being taken into custody, but Hughes refused and fought with officers the entire time refusing to give his hands to officers. When ECPD attended to the victim she related that Hughes punched her multiple times, 6 to 7 times, and that the last time she went to the hospital was for a prior domestic incident with Hughes and the complaint adds that the victim advised that this incident makes multiple times that Hughes has broken her nose. Hughes was transported to ECPD where he continued to struggle with officers. Hughes is charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Resisting Arrest.
USE/POSSESSION:
Richard Lumley, 53, of Ellwood City, is charged with Use/Possession of a Controlled Substance after an incident on September 14th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 9:35 p.m., police located Lumley who had a warrant for his arrest and was to be transported to Lawrence County Jail to be housed and await arraignment for his charges. Police informed Lumley if he had an illegal contraband concealed on him that he would be placed under arrest and going to prison and later informed Lumley upon his admittance to Lawrence County Prison that he would be charged with felony charges. The report relates Lumley was transported to jail and upon being fitted for a prison uniform was patted down and found to be in the possession of narcotics. According to the report, Lumley was found to be in possession of a glass vial containing suspected methamphetamine, a plastic tube and digital scale containing white powdery residue and a lip stick balm container containing white residue. The items were seized and Lumley was informed he would be facing felony charges.
HIDTA Task Force:
On September 14, 2023, members of the Lawrence County District Attorney’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA)Task Force executed a sealed search warrant at 361 Halco Drive New Castle, Pennsylvania 16101. Upon making entry, task force members located on the first floor Ms. Diana Taylor, and located on the second floor was the target of the investigation, Mr. Devin KING JR. Mr. KING attempted to flee from the residence on foot and was quickly apprehended by task force officers. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of 6.1 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 8 grams of suspected cocaine, two (2) cellphones, two (2) digital weigh scales, and $1,770.00 in United States currency. Mr. KING was charged with the following: (1) Possession with intent to deliver a controlled or counterfeit substance, and (2) Possession of drug paraphernalia.
TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT:
A two vehicle accident occured on Ellwood Road near its intersection with Panella Way, Wayne Township on September 17th at approximately 7:18 p.m. According to the accident report, A Subaru Impreza was slowing down while traveling south on Ellwood Road when a Toyota Solara driven by a 28-year-old Wampum female attempted to brake and move to the right to not strike the Subaru, but the Subaru went right as well and was struck by the Toyota. Both vehicles suffered minor damages and were able to be driven from the scene.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:
According to a report, a 56-year-old female victim from Ellwood City fell victim to criminal mischief on August 26th as it was found that a suspect allegedly trespassed onto the victim’s property, located on Waterfront Street, Franklin Township, and then damaged a lock and removed items from a shed. Throughout the course of investigation, it was determined the suspect had permission from landlord to be on property and secure belongings. The victim and landlord signed a Waiver of Prosecution forms for the incident.
