Mrs. Rose Marie LaCava, 92, of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, September 11th, 2023 peacefully, in her sleep at her home, after a brief illness.
Rose Marie was the daughter of Sam and Elizabeth Bellissimo, born on October 10th, 1930 in Ellwood City. She graduated from Lincoln High School and married her loving husband Lawrence in 1953. Although she didn’t go on to a career, she held jobs at GC Murphy’s and did bookkeeping for her uncle’s construction company. Rose Marie loved being a housewife and a mother and kept her house, along with her parent’s home immaculate and up until her late 80’s she did most of her own housework. She was a member of the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church. She volunteered at the school cafeteria. Because of her health she was mostly a shut in towards the end of her life but she never missed daily mass on television and said her prayers faithfully morning and night. She was also blessed with a great memory and up until her passing she could recall things most would have forgotten. Along with her keen mind, we will all remember her kindness and gentle spirit and love for God and her family.
She is survived by her son Anthony of Ellwood City, Cindy (Doug) Hickok of New Castle, Lisa (Scott) Corsello of Cranberry Twp., brother in law, Robert LaCava of Ellwood City, grandchildren, Cody Hickok, Elizabeth Hickok and Great Grandchildren Alexis Jo and Addison Marie Hickok.
Rose Marie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dominick was killed in WW II. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lawrence and her brother Joseph.
