Mr. Samuel Anthony Pezzi, 81, of Chewton passed away on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 at his residence.
Mr. Pezzi was born in Ellwood City on August 21st, 1942 the son of the late Charles J. and Rose J. (Scarpetti) Pezzi. He is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1960 and Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church. Sam enlisted with the United States Army on February 9th, 1962 and served until his honorable discharge on December 28th, 1964 with the rank of Specialist 4. He was awarded the Sharpshooter Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Following his service with the Army, Sam worked at the Aetna Standard Engineering Co. in Ellwood City for five years, Michael Baker Engineering in Beaver as a draftsman, and Medusa later known as Cemex from 1978 until his retirement in 2004 as a repairman. He is a former member of the Sons of Italy #608 and the Boilermakers Union. An avid golfer, Sam was also a member of the Del-Mar Golf Course. He enjoyed bowling, darts, pool, dancing, and Nascar. His greatest joy in life was time spent with his grandchildren.
Sam is survived by his wife Janet (Kolik) Pezzi whom he married on November 16th, 1968, daughter Julieann (Michael) Anderson of Cleveland, OH, son Samuel C. Pezzi and his partner Mandy Landek of Pittsburgh, grandchildren Michael Charles Anderson and Justine Nicole Anderson, and his brother Robert (Anita) Pezzi of Beaver Falls.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church at 10:00 am with Father Joseph Freedy officiating. Interment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the church on Saturday by 10:45 am to conduct full military honors.
