LHS Class of 1954 Celebrates 69th Reunion With Cookout

The Lincoln High School Class of 1954 celebrated their 69th Reunion with an Ellwood city 4th July Cookout.

The event was held on Saturday, July 1st, from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm at the Connequenessing Country Club Indoor patio.

Red, White and Blue decorated signs designed and provided by Ilene Gardner and her family directed all arrivals. Chairman, John Tino, greeted the visitors and Pudue LaCava presented each one with name tags. Ilene Gardner photographed each classmate and their guest. Honorary class members, Jackie Perno and Judy Portugallo recorded the reservations.

Tino was pleased to acknowledge the attendees, Paul Abraham and son Bobby, Audrey (Smith) and husband Rich, Betty (Beatice) Brown and son Brad, Joyce (Wiley) Cusato husband Ron, Herman D’Amico, Jan Garda, Ilene (Gardner) Chapman, Ginny (Bauder) Kline, Pudue (Volpe) LaCava, Arlene “Pinky” (Siesing) and her daughters, Chris McDonald and Karen Kehrer, Rose (Nocera) and husband Dom, Gayle (Wardman) McCormick,Frieda (McMath) Hahn, Jackie Perno, Judy Portugallo,Ruth (Chima) Risinger, Ray Shinsky and wife Margie, Clemmy Sirimarco and nephew Daniel Nelson, Ted Syphrit and wife Lois and John Tino.

All were seated and Ron Cusato offered the invocation. Tino then invited all to partake of the Buffet menu of burgers and sausage sandwiches, potato, pasta, coleslaw salads and fresh fruit medley, Mac & Cheese, Baked Beans and all the toppings. A dessert station featured Ilene’s 4th July trays of her homemade cookies. Coffee, Tea, Iced Tea Lemonade, water and a cash bar were also presented.

Tables were decorated with a paper basket of candy marking each place setting and decorative buckets of red, white,blue flowers and red sparkle stars all made and furnished by Ilene’s daughter, Kim Groom.

A social time was enjoyed with all joining in conversations. Sirimarco, Nelson and Garda were able to record the day.

Tino announced plans for a 70th reunion on June 29, 2024 at the Connequenessing Country Club. All class members will be advised of all details.
