The 3rd Annual Dog Days of Summer, which is sponsored by Reeds Services, and benefits police K9s took place on Saturday and Sunday in Ewing Park.
Forces having K9s is a dying program because of the lack of funding available according to Chad Reed of Reed’s Services. Reed has said that as pet lovers and advocates of community safety, he is dedicated to continuing this program into the future.
The event featured dock diving dogs, barn dogs, working dogs & k-9 police competitions all weekend long. There was also hourly k-9 demonstrations, food trucks, crafts, vendors, kids’ zone, games, silent auction, and music.
A popular hot dog eating contest, sponsored by Red Hot Restaurant, took place on Sunday.
