Barbara Lou Webb-Michlich- Mathews, 86

Barbara Lou Webb-Michlich-Mathews, 86, of Ellwood City passed away on June 8, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver. She was the daughter of the late Mary Lucile Beaver Webb and Reverend Merritt Hugh Webb and was born on August 31, 1936 in Summit, N.J.

She is survived by her sons; Brian Lee Michlich and his wife Sandra of Scotrun, PA, Blake William Michlich and his wife Sheree Hockenberry of Ellwood City, Grandchildren; Kimberly A. Miller and her husband Zackery, Maksim J Michlich, her great-grandchildren Abigail Miller and Larisa Michlich.

Barbara was born in New Jersey and was a graduate of Suffern High School in New York and she was also attended Westminster College. She married, the love of her life, William H. Michlich on August 23, 1958 and was married until his death in 1981. She met and married her second husband, Richard V. Mathews on July 25, 1998 and they were married until his death in 2001.

She enjoyed life and was always out and about with friends and her family. She was Employed over the years as a legal secretary, and Private secretary to the production manager of Rockwell Axle Division and was the secretary of the President of Etna Standard, with her last years before retirement she worked for Kimple’s Jewelers, in Ellwood City. She was always very active in her life with much dedication to volunteer work with the Crisis Hot Line, the Ellwood City Hospital Auxiliary, she was also an active member with the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Ellwood City, their PTO in Ellport, the CCC Bowling League, AARP of Ellwood City and she was active and was a 50 year Member of The Order of the Eastern Star Ellwood City Chapter No.212. Over her life she was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Ellwood City, Knox Presbyterian Church of Ellwood City, and finally Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church. Barbara was a loving friend, devoted wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her brother William Webb, sister-in-law; Virginia S Webb and one nephew Michael Webb.

Friends may call on the family, Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 6:00pm-8:00pm with an Eastern Star Funeral Service given by the Ellwood City Chapter No. 212 at 7:30pm at Turner Funeral Home with Funeral Services being held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 11:00am at Turner’s with Reverend Rob Guy, officiating.

She will be interred at Slippery Rock Presbyterian Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial donations made in Barbara’s name to the Ellwood City Public Library located at 415 Lawrence Ave in Ellwood or the Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church located at 291 Wurtemburg Rd in Ellwood City.

Arrangements entrusted to THE TURNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES located at 6th and Park in Ellwood City.
