Michael D. Freed, 45, of North Sewickley Township passed away on Monday, March 27th, 2023 at the Heritage Valley Medical Center.
Michael was born in Ellwood City on January 20th, 1978 to David and Mary Lou (Rambo) Freed. Mike had graduated from Riverside High School with the class of 1996. He had worked at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople in the dietary department, and most recently for the Verland Foundation in Sewickley as a manager in the dietary department. Mike is a member of the Riverview Country Chapel in North Sewickley Twp.. Mike was a music enthusiast who had a great appreciation for The Grateful Dead and Phish. He enjoyed the outdoors, going to concerts, gardening, hiking, and was a very good cook.
He is survived by his loving wife Amy (West) Freed whom he married on October 15th, 2005, daughter Corrina Freed, his parents Dave and Mary Lou Freed, sister Tracy Herron, his mother and father-in-law Boyd and Brenda West all of North Sewickley Twp. and nieces and nephews Makayla, Emma, Rachael, Megan, and Olivia.
Mike was preceded in death by his maternal-grandparents Harold and Alice Rambo and paternal-grandparents David and Sarah Freed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-3 pm and 5:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Pastor Bryan Cooper officiating.
Memorial contributions in Mike’s name may be made to: UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, or to: Verland Foundation.
