Valarie Jean Viccari, 73, of Ellwood City passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at UPMC Jameson Hospital following a brief illness.
Valarie was born October 30, 1949 in Ellwood City. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Lou Lembo Ferrante.
Valarie was a graduate of Lincoln High School and later in life married her late husband Martin “Buck” Viccari. Occupationally, she was a Jack-of-all-trades, working in multiple capacities, including working as a roofer and then as a cashier and assistant supervisor at the West Pointe Mint. Her longest held position was in New York at a glass company where she worked approximately nine years as a packer. She then trained to be an inspector, before the plant eventually closed.
Valarie loved music. She enjoyed going to concerts and dancing. She had a fondness for her tv shows, her knick knack/miniature collection, and her cat Rufus. Valarie’s greatest love was for her family and was especially proud of her daughter and she made sure to always let her know. She had a 10-day old grandson she was very much looking forward to meeting. She was a loving listener and a loyal friend. Valarie was always ready to give a memorable one liner when you were down, and a wise piece of advice. She was friendly and empathetic and always let you know that you were her friend with a warm “Hi Honey!” when you saw her.
Survivors include her daughter Brianne (Timothy) Hervatine and grandson Dawson Hervatine, two brothers, Nicholas (Linda Guthrie) Ferrante of West Pittsburg and Anthony (Stacey Ierino) Ferrante of Ellwood City, sister, Lu Ann (Jeff) Myers of New Kensington, sisters-in-law Paige Yarzebinski, Darlene Cragle, Tammy Viccari and several nieces and nephews, and her cherished lifelong friend and loving cousin, Ramona Cornelius.
Valarie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Buck, her brother Matt, brothers-in-laws Michael and Mark Viccari and her cats, Marley and Ruca.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be set at a future date.
