Krista D. Knechtel, 42, of Ellwood City passed away Monday, January 30, 2023.
Born July 16, 1980 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of Deborah Kirkham Cottrell of Ellwood City and Gary Cottrell of Montana.
Krista enjoyed painting and crafting. She loved the outdoors, especially spending time at Moraine, hiking at Buttermilk Falls, and spending time with her grandsons.
In addition to her parents Deborah and Gary, survivors include two daughters, Cassidy Smith and Marilyn Knechtel both of Ellwood City; son, Elijah Knechtel of Ellwood City; three sisters, Jamie (Matt) Kelosky of Ellwood City, Halie Cottrell and Mellisse Garcia both of Montana; two brothers, Travis Cottrell of Montana and Shayne McChesney of South Dakota; two grandsons who were the love of her life, Noah Huffman and Cyrus Knechtel and her grandmother Phyllis Kirkham of Ellwood City.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather George Kirkham.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday February 8, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on February 9, 2023 at 11:00 am with Pastor Dennis Arndt officiating.
Interment will follow in Slippery Rock Church Cemetery.
