John E. Lample, 79, of Ellwood City, passed away in his residence on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
Born on May 10, 1943 in Perry Township, John was the son of the late John and Viola St. Clair Lample. Upon graduation, John enlisted in the US Navy. When his enlistment ended, John moved to Hawaii and worked at Hawaii Western Steel and then later retired from Love’s Bakery. While in Hawaii, John met his wife, Haeng Cha “Judy” and they were married for thirty-eight years. After he retired, John and Judy moved back to Ellwood City so they could be near family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially with Judy. They were inseparable.
In addition to Judy, John is survived by his son, John E. Lample of Hawaii, his step-son, Tonia Copeland of Michigan, a sister, Nancy (John) Bollinger of Ellwood City, five brothers; Daniel (Maria) Lample of California, Joe (Brenda) Lample of California, William (Sandy) Lample of Ohio, Albert (Carole) Lample of Florida and Earl (Carol) Lample of New Castle, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Rodriguez and Mary Bollinger.
There were no services, according to John’s wishes. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
