Bonnie Maxine DeCaria, 79

Mrs. Bonnie Maxine (Knight) DeCaria, 79, of Ellwood City, also known as Gammie, passed away on Saturday, January 21st, 2023 in Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Bonnie was born September 29th, 1943 in Upper Glades, Webster County, VW to Albert Boyd “Pap” Knight and Myrtle Goldie Morris Knight. She was married to the love of her life and soul mate Joseph V. DeCaria, Sr. on January 18th, 1961 who survives. They had just celebrated 62 years of their wonderful and blessed life together.

She worked at many different businesses in Ellwood City throughout the years including Cully’s Restaurant, Riverside Pharmacy, Ames, Busy Beaver, Dollar General and Giant Eagle.
She is survived by her children Debbie (Richard) Vetica of Hermitage, Bonnie Eonta of Cranberry Twp., Kim (Daryl) Pitzer of Ellwood City and Joe (Tina) DeCaria of Ellwood City, grandchildren Richie (Maura), Dante and Lauren Vetica; Anthony (Britt), Michael (Desiree) and Francesca Eonta, Daryk and Shane Pitzer, and Vincent and Nico DeCaria, her precious great-grandchildren Harlow, Mila, Leo, Annilyse, Dominic, Micah and Lorenzo, one brother Paul “Junior” Knight, two sisters-in-law Darlene “Vickie” L. and Pearl E. Knight and many, many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Agnes Mae Waters “Granny” Knight, six brothers Charles E., Gordon E., William B., James B., Gerald L. and Orville “Bud” Knight, five sisters, Evelyn R. Bennett, Ruby L. Thompson, Hazel M. Detamore, Betty C. Martin and Dorothy L. Kyer, and her beloved dogs Bruno and Colby.

Bonnie was a shining light with a kind soul, loved by all who knew and met her. She was the most caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and was truly
everyone’s favorite Gam. She never met a stranger, adored her family and was best known for her Gammie cookies that were loved by all. She will be missed beyond words, but those who
touch our lives stay in our hearts forever. Go rest high on that mountain, sweet Gam, we love you.

Family and Friends will be received on Wednesday from 3-7 pm and Thursday from 10 am until the service at 11 am at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 309 Spring Ave, Ellwood City, Pa 16117. Pastor Dennis Arndt of the Lillyville Church of God will officiate the service. Interment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery.
