The Ellwood City Bocce team is making strides according to head coach John Dibuono.
The team split decisions against Butler and Seneca Valley this past week.
On January 10th the Ellwood City bocce team took on Butler. Butler prevailed in the matchup three games to one.
The team faced Seneca Valley on Wednesday January 18th. Ellwood City got the win with a three to one victory over the Raiders.
“We are striving to get better each day at practice and ready to compete hopefully for the playoffs,” says Dibuono. ”
The team will look to repeat its successful run last year winning the section.
Ellwood City’s next match will be on the road against Knoch Area on Tuesday, January 24th for the first of a home-and-home series. Knoch comes to town for a home match versus Ellwood City on Monday, January 30th.
Leading up to the home game against Knock the school will host a school pep rally for the bocce team on Monday before the 3:00 game time start.
The Ellwood City Bocce Team is comprised of two competing teams among eight teams in the North West section. Team one record is 2-1 and team two record stands at 1-2 with two games remaining in the season.
All community members are invited to attend the bocce game on this day in the big gym to support the team. Once again start time at 3:00 p.m.
