2022 has been deemed “The Year of the Wedding.”
According to the NY Times, 2.5+ million weddings took place in the 2022 calendar year. And it really comes as no surprise– many couples are finally allowed to have the dream wedding they’ve been putting off for years due to pandemic-driven holdups.
Most weddings take place between the late Summer and Fall months in the US. In fact, 77% of all US weddings are held during these months. Overall, October is the most popular month for weddings. It’s a time when the Autumn foliage is at its best and it’s not too cold yet. Some 22% of weddings take place in the October according to a report.
For many in our immediate and surrounding areas, love found its way in to the mix in the second half of 2022. In total, 342 marriage licenses were reported by the Lawrence County Prothonotary Offices from August to December 2022.
