Peter J. “Whitey” Maietta, 70 of Ellwood City passed away at Allegheny General Hospital on Thursday, December 29, 2022.
Born in Ellwood City on August 11, 1952, Whitey was the son of the late Peter J. and Lucy M. Conte Maietta. He is survived by his companion of 18 years, Mary Jo Eonta Capone. Whitey had worked at B & W and later was a quality control person at the Shippingport Power Plant. He was a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church. Whitey enjoyed his cars and his Harley. He played Santa for many years at the New Castle Harley Store. He was a member of the 1970 Class at Lincoln High School and an active member of the class reunion committee. Mostly, Whitey enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends.
Besides his companion, Mary Jo, Whitey is survived by a daughter, Felicia Maietta of Wampum, stepson, James Capone of Cantement, FL, a stepdaughter, Shantel Manning of Lakeland, FL, 7 grandchildren, Camilla and Roman Anderson, John Manning, James and Jenna Gautney, Mary Morris and Joey Capone and 3 great grandchildren, Maisie Gautney, Levi and Lily Morris.
Whitey was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Maietta.
