Lafe M. Pelissier, 83

afe M. Pelissier, 83, of Ellwood City, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Northview Estates under the care of VITAS Hospice. He was the son of the late Emile and Margaret “Peg” (Mitchell) Pelissier and was born February 22, 1939, in Ellwood City.

He is survived by his first wife, Nancy (Kaufman) Pelissier of Ellwood City, and his children: Lafe Eric & Elaine Pelissier of Rochester, NY, Cherina Pelissier & Dan Sutherland of Ellwood City, and Gene & Michelle Pelissier of Ellwood City. The joy of his life, three grandchildren, Mitchell Pelissier of New York City, NY, Chloe Pelissier of Rochester, NY, and Michael (Mikey) Pelissier of Ellwood City, along with two nephews, Norm McCreary of New Castle and Mark McCreary.

Lafe graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958 and retired from the Ellwood City Forge after ~30 years of service. After high school, he went to Modesto Junior College, Modesto, CA, where he continued to play football for the Modesto Pirates. Lafe served in the U.S. Army’s First Calvary Military Police and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was Honorably discharged in 1968. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and loved his Harley Davidson and riding along country roads.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lavonne McCreary; his second wife, Joanne (Gaskins) Pelissier; and many loving cousins.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 3:00PM-6:00PM with Military Honors to be rendered at 6:00 PM. Members of the Veteran’s Honor Guard are asked to be at Turner’s at 5:45PM. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00pm with with Pastor Dennis Arndt, Officiating.

Interment will be in Lillyville Church of God Cemetery
