Kathryn “Kate” Elizabeth, 32

Kathryn Elizabeth Dillon, 32, of North Sewickley Twp., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Heritage Valley Medical Center, Beaver on Monday, November 7 after an extended illness.

Born on December 12, 1989 in Annapolis, Maryland, Kate was the daughter of Elaine Ann (Keul) Geisel and Matthew Roy Dillon.

After graduating from Riverside Beaver County High School in 2008, Kate earned a B.A. in social work from Malone University of Canton, Ohio in 2012.
As a 16-year cancer survivor, Kate took great pleasure and joy in her faith and in being with family and friends. She relished her time reading historical fiction and volunteering in church as well as at the Blair Personal Care Home.

Kate is survived by her mother, Elaine Geisel of North Sewickley, her father Matt Dillon of Darlington, her sister Maggie Ford, brother-in-law Roy and niece Naomi Ford of Hatfield, PA., her grandmother Marjorie Geisel of Aliquippa and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her step-father Kenneth M. Geisel, and grandparents Albert and Ann Keul and Ron and Carolyn Dillon.

Memorial gifts may be made, in Kate’s name, to the Oncology Program at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation at www.givetochildrens.org/donate or mailed to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.

The family will receive friends at the Turner Funeral Home in Ellwood City on Friday, November 11 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.

The funeral will be held at Concord United Methodist Church, 285 Concord Church Road, Beaver Falls, Pa. on Saturday November 12 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor John Phipps, as well as, Pastor Sam DeMarco of Life Family Church will co-officiate.
