POLICE: ECPD Alert Residents Of Recent Home Invasion

In a news release made available by the Ellwood City Police Department, police have apprehended three suspects in a recent home invasion and robbery. The report reads as follows:

On October 14th at approximately 15:10 p.m., Ellwood City Police Department Officers were dispatched to an address in the 700 block of Line Avenue for reports of an armed robbery.

The victim advised three males entered his residence with a gun and held the victim at gun point while they stole two pistols and multiple credit cards. The actors left the residence and walked to a vehicle at an unknown location and got away. It was later determined that the actors robbed the wrong house and the victim was not the intended target.

On October 20th an Officer while on patrol noticed a gray Hyundai traveling North on North Street where it was unknown where it turned off. The Officer felt that the driver matched a description of an actor in the 10/14 armed robbery and went to check the residence location where the initial robbery occurred and located the gray Hyundai sitting in the alley a few houses up from the prior robbery with pink duct tape covering the rear license plate in an effort to make it unreadable.

The Officer completed a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, the occupants provided multiple indicators that built enough reason to pull the occupants from the vehicle where it was determined that one of the occupants was concealing a stolen firearm from the home invasion on 10/14. All three were placed into custody and transported to ECPD.

Based on corporation it was determined that the actors intended to go back to the right residence this time and rob it again. The victim was able to identify the one actor from the home invasion and along with the collaborating evidence, statements, and the stolen firearm we were able to charge two of the actors from the 10/14 home invasion.

The actors were charged with Robbery, Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Theft, Unlawful Restraint, and recklessly endangering as well as possible further charges. At this time based on the ages of actors and on-going investigation the names will not be released at this time, this is an active case still at this time.

  1. Release the names of the suspects, and charge them as adults! Also, as a Line Ave resident, I really wish there was more police presence in the area. There has been a lot of suspicious activity lately, and it’s been like a racetrack, with vehicles speeding. Police have been notified on several occasions, but don’t seem to care. Mayor Court should be on top of this already!

    • The above commenter is correct. There is a guy on a motorcycle that drives up and down Line Ave, constantly, at a deadly rate of speed. There’s a school bus stop here also. Our kids are in dange. This robbery happened in broad daylight! ..What are these cops busy doing?
