The Ellwood City Italian American Heritage Foundation (ECIAHF) held its monthly meeting Friday September 23 at Hunter Brother’s Coffee located in the Ole Ellport School.
The meeting was opened with A Prayer For A Grateful Heart, and World War II Veteran and Hero Sgt. Guy Prestia led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Kathy Gorzkowski and Delores Maietta volunteered to display our Family Heritage Notebooks and ECIAHF’s Yearly Notebooks in the Hunter Brother’s all purpose room. The Presenter and Publicity Chairpersons Phyllis Fusco and Delores Maietta engaged Mr. Tim Hunter to speak on “Talking to Teens and How They Identify Themselves.”
Mr. Tim warned that depression is common in teens. It is a job as adults to direct teens to participate. Have them share with you a daily story about family and friends. This leads to open communication. When you are there for them, participation, they are learning to participate with others. Now they are making others happy and they become happier.
A question and answer session followed with an extremely pleased group wanting Mr. Tim to speak another time. Delicious coffee, tea, and the fixings were provided by Hunter Brothers Coffee.
Next meeting date and speaker to be announced. Guests and potential members are always welcome. For questions phone Barbara at 724-758-0404.
