Ellwood City Freshman Jordan Keller fired a round of 78 on Monday at Green Meadows Golf Course to qualify and advance to the WPIAL Class 2A Semifinals.
Keller finished 5th overall in the Section V qualifier event, easily besting a target score of 86 to advance.
Other Wolverine golfers posting scores from Monday include Colten Crizer (89), Mitch Covert (91), Carson Capello (97), Grady Smith (99), and Nathan Williams (100).
Fellow Freshman and Laurel Spartan golfer Eli Bintrim finished with a low round of 74 on Monday.
The next round for Keller in the WPIAL 2A Golf Individual Championships is Monday (09/26) at Hannastown CC (WPIAL Semifinals). The WPIAL 2A Boys’ Golf Individual Championships is slated for October 4th at Oakmont Country Club.
Keller and the Wolverines recently defeated Shenango in section play on Thursday, September 15th by a score of 225-229. Keller fired a low round of 41 to lead Ellwood City who improved their team record to 7-4 on the season. Crizer (43), Covert (46), Capello (46), and Williams (49) contributed in the victory.
