Mrs. Bette Baney DeLoia, 85, of Ellwood City passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15th, 2022 at Northview Estates.
Bette was born in Ellwood City on September 11th, 1937 to the late Stephen and Edna (Rice) Baney. Bette graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1955 and was a member of the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church. Since September of 1955 she was the well known owner and operator of the Bette Baney’s Dance Studio with locations in Ellwood City, Beaver Falls, Chippewa Twp. and Cranberry Twp. She also was the owner and operator of the Gymnastics Center in Ellwood City. For 55 years Bette was the choreographer for the Lincoln High School Blue Band. She was also the parade chairperson for all of the Ellwood City parades and a member of the Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food, & Entertainment Festival committee serving as the entertainment chairperson.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Bette was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John DeLoia whom she married on August 30th, 1969 and passed away on December 24th, 2016.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-7 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church with Father James Wehner officiating. Interment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery.
