Christine Cosgrove Trivilino,57, of Wampum, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 22, 2022, surrounded by loving family members after a long battle with cancer.
Chris was born on December 12, 1964 in Ellwood City, PA to the late Donald K. and Wilma J. (McCullough) Cosgrove.
Chris was a dedicated employee of Heritage Valley Health System since 1991. She enjoyed her work and the many friendships she had with her co-workers. She was very grateful for the folks who mentored her over the years and had a sincere respect for the work the BBO and MSO teams accomplished.
An active member of Harmony Baptist Church, Chris helped with the children’s ministries, decorating the church and various other church functions alongside her sisters. She was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others and was a loyal servant to God. In her latter days, it was very important to her that she serve the Lord in prayer for the salvation of her family and friends.
Chris was a loving mother, sister, and aunt who would light up the room when she entered. Chris enjoyed going to Rogers’s flea market, Pittsburgh Penguin hockey games, and trips to Pittsburgh for events with her son, Matthew. She was very proud of her son and the man he has become. She also loved spending time with her young nephews, Jared and Aaron Cosgrove. They loved sleepovers, movie nights and going on adventures – hiking in the woods, along the riverbanks and the railroad tracks. She also enjoyed gardening, family game nights, and get-togethers with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; niece, Savannah Cosgrove; and sister-in-law, Connie Cosgrove.
Survivors include her son Matthew Cosgrove (Elizabeth Lennox) of Ellwood City, PA; brother Bill Cosgrove of Columbiana, OH; sister Sharon (Randy) Dixon of Wampum, PA; sister Dawn Cosgrove of Wampum, PA; sister Brenda (Ed) Dwyer of Yorktown, VA; sister Marna (Fred) Schriner of Enon Valley, PA; brother David (Cindy) Cosgrove of New Castle, PA; and aunts, an uncle, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Chris was known for her vivacious personality, joyful spirit and generous nature. She touched many lives and cared deeply for her family and friends. She was a blessing to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Family times will never be the same without her.
Now that Chris has passed into the arms of Jesus, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Chris’s physical life on earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful home in heaven. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11: 25-26
The immediate family extends their heartfelt gratitude to family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and her church family who sent cards, gifts, flowers and prayers; also, to the compassionate nurses who cared for her throughout her battle.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Harmony Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff MacKay officiating. A dinner will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Harmony Baptist Church at 4103 Ellwood Road, New Castle, PA 16101.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph A. Tomon Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
