Mildred “Becky” Devich Sentak, 96

Mildred “Becky” Devich Sentak, 96, of Ellwood City (formerly of Enon Valley) passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital following a short illness.

Born January 1, 1926 in Midland, she was the daughter of the late Simo and Milka Rodosovich Devich. She married the late Walter P. Sentak on September 5, 1950. They were married for 39 years when he passed on May 16, 1989.

Becky was a member of the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. She was a member of the Serbian Sisters, where, as a young woman, she traveled throughout the United States and Canada as a singer in Dr. Laza Kostich’s Choir. She was also a member of the American Serbian Club in Midland, the Arwilda Rebekah Lodge 556 of Enon Valley where she held positions in every office, the Past Noble Grand Club of the Arwilda Rebekah Lodge, the Enon Valley Woman’s Club, and the Past President’s Club. She also attended the St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Darlington and belonged to their 55+ Club and the Sewing Circle.

Becky enjoyed baking (especially bread), needlework, quilting, and spending time at her family camp in Kennerdell. Her most cherished moments were spent with family.

Survivors include five daughters, Janice (Chuck) McAnlis of New Galilee, Marty Warchol of Mt. Jackson, JoAnn (S. Edward) McCready of New Galilee, Susan (Tim) Aquino of Ellwood City, and Christine (Rick Alberti) Sentak of Ellwood City; four grandsons, Brian C. (Colleen) McAnlis, Jason McCready, Justin (Rachel) Aquino, and Alex (Briana LaCamera) Aquino; four granddaughters, Shannon L. (James) Berkebile, Amy (Jeremy) Lutz, Abby (Tony) Ricci and Kristin (David) Aquino-Tritt and 15 great grandchildren.

The last of her family, she was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, three brothers, Dragan (Daniel) Dusan (Donald) and Mirko (Mike) Devich, and two sisters, Dorothy Savin and Ann Petrosky.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday July 24, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street, Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home, on July 25, 2022 at 11:00 am with her grand sons in law Pastor Jeremy Lutz and Rev. James Berkebile officiating.

Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery.
