Mrs. Sandra K. Hardesty, 76, of Bessemer, formerly Ellwood City, passed away on Sunday, July 17th, 2022 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.
Mrs. Hardesty was born on March 11, 1946 in Pittsburgh to the late John V. and Marietta (Bassler) Markle. She had worked at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, Sherwood Oaks in Cranberry, and Heritage Valley Medical Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Sandra enjoyed reading and jig saw puzzles.
She is survived by her daughters, Shannon Hinkle (James Augustine) of Bessemer, Sharon (Bob) Miller of Wampum, and Sharlene (Curtis) Figurel of Ellwood City, sons, Shawn Hardesty of Butler, Shane Hardesty of Beaver Falls, and Sham Hardesty of Jamestown, 15 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, McKinley “Junior” Hardesty Jr. whom she married on April 6th, 1964 and passed away on September 1st, 2009, sisters, Louise DeBlasio, Cheryl Johnson, and Dorothy Hinkle, and brothers, William, John, and Wayne Markle.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Hardesty’s name may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
As per Sandra’s wishes there will not be a public service. Final arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc..
