Frank Samuel Newton, 74

Frank Samuel Newton, 74, of Wellington, OH passed on July 17, 2022. Born December 17, 1947 to the late Nancy(Cole) and Ralph Newton, he grew up in Ellwood City, PA, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1965. He served his country in the Navy as a Marine Corpsman during the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart and multiple awards of merit for his bravery during combat. He graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in Business Management and spent his career as a finance director for various large power management construction projects throughout the United States.

Frank was an avid outdoorsman who loved nothing more than spending time trap shooting, boating and walleye fishing with his grandson Tyler, pheasant hunting with his dog Jenny, carting and showing his Shetland pony Wilson at his county fair and riding around on his John Deere tractor. He loved country music and counted down the days to his Country Music Cruise every year with his partner Janis. He also loved taking care of ‘Newton Ranch’ where he took the best care of his horses Mille and Wilson and cat Cowboy.

Frank was above all else a loving father, grandfather, partner and friend who will be missed tremendously and never forgotten. He is survived by his daughter Kristine (David Bastian) Newton of Valley City, OH, grandson Tyler (Rachel) Newton of Medina, OH, partner Janis Gingerich and sons Alex and Sam Newton.

The family will be holding a private service at Marshall’s Funeral Home in Ellwood City, PA on Saturday, July 23. He will be laid to rest at the Slippery Rock Mausoleum in Elwood City, PA alongside his parents Nancy (Cole) and Ralph Newton, grandparents Fanchon (Morrison) and Frank Cole, and great aunt and uncle Odd and Mimi McCleary.
