The Lincoln High School Class of 1954 held a “66th, 67th and 68th COVIDs Make-Up Reunions” earlier this month.
The class got together on Friday, July 1st at Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ according to Clemmy Sirimarco.
John and Pat Tino, Ilene Gardner and Pudue LaCava led a meet and greet at 11:30 a.m. as attendees entered the reunion.
LaCava presented each with a name tag and Gardner photographed each class member and their guest. Registration was conducted by “honorary class members” Jackie Perno and Judy Portugallo who directed all to view Gardner’s display of photos and memoirs from the previous 16 reunions. A memorial display noted the addition of 19 class members who have passed since the 65th reunion.
A luncheon began at noon.
Place settings were marked by blue candy bags tied in blue and white with a tag inscribed “Just Hanging In There – Class of ’54” created and provided by Gardner. Raised platters of dessert decorated cupcakes provided by the Tinos, centered each table. Conversation was lively and friendships were renewed throughout the afternoon, as many had traveled from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, and Illinois.
A most welcomed Facetime chat with class president, Jody Gardner, from Arizona was joined with class secretary, Vida (Mariotti) Sweeney and class treasurer, Ruth (Chima) Risinger who were in attendance. Vice President, Harry Holfelder is deceased. Pictured taking continued with Gardner assisted by Portugallo and Herman D’Amico.
Concluding the event, John and Pat Tino expressed the appreciated of the committee for the amazing turnout.
The two plan to develop of Class of ’54 electronic mailing list and request that email addresses be sent to mrspat218@aol.com to continue future plans, friendships, and news.
