POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE:
On May 31, 2022 at approximately 1:47 a.m., police were searching an area for a group of males who attempted to break into a vehicle, and observed a blue Chrysler PT Cruiser make an abrupt turn down Petain Street from Jefferson Avenue. According to a criminal complaint, and upon following the vehicle, police observed a rear passenger exit the vehicle and begin to push the vehicle resulting in police initiating a traffic stop. The driver, Kortney May, had a warrant for her arrest and was placed under arrest. The rear passenger, Crystal Lemanski, 36 of Ellwood City, also had a warrant for her arrest and was placed under arrest. Upon search of both females, May did not have any narcotics or paraphernalia on her but Lemanski was found to be in possession of suspected heroin. Both were released from custody and advised to respond to their warrants.

BURGLARY:
According to a criminal complaint, and on June 2, 2022 while on normal patrol, police came upon two males walking down Young Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Patrol made contact with Tomasz Kedzierski, 39, of New Castle, and Walter Guffey, 39, of Wampum, and the males related they could use a ride. Upon background check it was discovered Kedzierski had an active NCIC warrant and was arrested for a warrant, and lodged into the Lawrence County Jail. Walter Guffey was free to go. Kedzierski had a backpack and the contents appeared to be stolen or involved in a crime.  Later in the evening, police were dispatched to a reported burglary at Princeton Station Road in Slippery Rock Township. A neighbor was able to identify items from the burglary seized from Kedzierski. It was found that Kedzierski and Guffey went inside the unlocked and unoccupied residence and removed numerous items from the house totaling $200.00. Guffey was later located via an ankle monitor and taken into custody, later admitting to being at the residence with Kedzierski.

SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Holly Poloka, 22, of Wampum, is charged with Simple Assault and Terroristic Threats after an incident on May 8, 2022. According to a criminal complaint, PA State Police responded to a call at approximately 11:24 a.m. about a homeowner, Poloka, pointing a pistol and verbally threatening two individuals for attempting to repossess a vehicle at Morgan Lane, Wayne Township, Lawrence County. Upon police arrival, they secured Poloka without incident and a Springfield Armory 9mm was recovered from the scene and entered into evidence.



DRIVING WITH SUSPENDED LICENSE:
Douglas Conner, 59, of Ellwood City, is charged with driving while license suspended – DUI related – and as a habitual offender after a traffic stop on June 12, 2022. According to the criminal complain, and at approximately 11:28 a.m. police on patrol and monitoring traffic near Seven Eleven convenience store and were able to observe a vehicle being operated by Conner. The responding officer was aware of Conner’s license being under suspension and initiated a traffic stop without incident. Per a certified drivers history for Conner, his operating privileges are under suspension – DUI related and is considered a habitual offender. He was advised he would be receiving charges via summons and was released from the traffic stop.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, POSSESSION:
Shane O’Donnell, 23, of Pittsburgh, is charged with Disorderly Conduct and Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after an incident on May 27, 2022. According to the criminal complaint, and at approximately 8:58 p.m., PA State Police were dispatched to a male asleep in a vehicle not responding at the Sheetz located on US Highway 422, Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.  Upon arrival police located a blue Jeep Wrangler parked in the parking lot with O’Donnell identified in the front seat. Police asked O’Donnell to exit the vehicle and appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. O’Donnell admitted to drug use and possible marijuana use in the vehicle and provided consent to search. The search resulted in locating small plastic bag containing one full and one half Oxycodone pills in the center console with a white rolled up paper with a powdery substance. In the rear seat, police located an orange backpack containing one glass jar with a small amount of marijuana, a rose gold colored metal grinder, and a smoking device, and a black THC vape pen. O’Donnell related he didnt have a medical marijuana card and was not being prescribed for Oxycodone.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, POSSESSION:
Eric Winters, 28, of Columbus OH, is charged with Disorderly Conduct and Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after an incident on May 24, 2022. According to the criminal complaint, and at approximately 3:06 p.m., PA State Police were dispatched to a fatal crash on Perry Highway in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. During the course of this crash, investigation of the front seat passenger of one of the vehicles was identified as Winters. It was learned that Winters had a full extradition probation violation Burlgary Warrant out of the Frnakl County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio. Winters was placed into custody and a search incident led to the location of a plastic baggie containing suspected heroin, a white straw containing a powdery residue, and a red straw containing powdery residue. An arrest prior to requisition has also been completed in reference to Winters.

DUI:
Lindsay Warner, 21, of Ellwood City, is charged with DUI and Careless Driving after an incident on May 9, 2022. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 6:29 a.m., PA State Police were dispatched to a one vehicle crash on River Road near Tony Ditko Road, in Wayne Township. Upon arrival, a red Chevy Cruze was over an embankment in contact with brush and first responders directed police to the operator of the vehicle. Police spoke with the operator, Warner, who appeared to be very fidgety. Her pupils were constricted, eyes bloodshot and glassy, and was asked to submit a field sobriety test. Warner displayed multipel signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. A search of her purse found suspected crack cocaine, a clear plastic bag with white powder substance and drug paraphernalia. Warner was transported to PSP New Castle and later an area hospital for a blood draw.
