Mr. Mark L. Grim, 70, of Shenango Township passed away on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022 at the UPMC Jamison Hospital in New Castle.
Mark was born in Monaca on February 2nd, 1952 to the late Melvin and Mary (Yambrisic) Grim. He is a member of the Monaca High School class of 1970, and graduated from Robert Morris College in 1974 with a degree in marketing. While in high school Mark played football, baseball, basketball, and played trumpet in the schools marching band. Mark had worked as a salesman for Lorillard Tobacco Company, and since 1989 as the owner and operator of VRS Office Supply Company. He is a past president of the Ellwood City Jay Cee’s and a member of the J.C.I. Senate, his number being 42730. He served as Vice-President of the National Jay Cee’s. Mark was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. He also had coached Little League and Minor League Baseball in Ellwood City.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie (Zink) Grim whom he married on November 13th, 2010, his in-laws, Mathew (Kitty) Barsotti, Martin “Doc” (Rose) Barsotti, Michael Barsotti, Mary Ellen Barsotti, Marilyn Barsotti, Janice (Charles) Pollina, and Jean Ann Barsotti, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Joemma B. Barsotti whom he married on September 12th, 1981 and passed away on February 18th, 2008, sons, Michael Lee Grim and Mark Lee Grim, Jr., mother and father-in-law, Frank and Virginia Barsotti, and brothers-in-law, Marlon and Mark Barsotti.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-7 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Pastor Gene Worline , Chaplain of Quality Life Services in New Castle. Inurnment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Mark’s name may be made out to the Ellwood City Public Library or the Ellwood City Historical Society.
