Mr. Joseph F. Morabito, 64, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley.
Joe was born in Ellwood City on January 28th, 1958 to the late Norman A. “Peppy” and Susan (Angotti) Morabito. He is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1975 and the Holy Redeemer Parish. For many years Joe was the owner of Morabito Contracting, and most recently as the back bone of “Shop at the Underpass”. He also is a member of the Sons of Italy #608 having served as past president, past vice-president, trustee, and currently as the secretary/treasurer, and the Hungarian Home. Lately he enjoyed his weekly visits to the Ellwood City Library.
He is survived by his bride of 45 years Mary Kay (Ferrante) Morabito whom he married on March 19th, 1977, daughters, Anna (Eric) Thompson of Ellwood City and Jennie (Brad) Watt of Warren, Pa, grandchildren, Devin and Luca Thompson, Otis, Alice, and Minnie Sue Watt, sisters, Norma Ursu of Ellwood City, Mary Sue Hoffman of Ellwood City, Dorothy (James) Eakles of Beaver Falls, Kathy Bloom of Ellwood City, Nancy (William) Walton of Wayne Twp., and Christine (David) Ringer of Wampum, and his brother, Anthony “Tony” (Pam) Morabito of Perry Twp.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law, Minnie Ferrante of Ellwood City, and brother-in-law, Sam Ferrante of Franklin Twp..
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Oliver Watt, nephew, Jeremy Bloom, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ferrante, father-in-law, Sam Ferrante, and brothers-in-law, Joe Hoffman and Dennis Ursu.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Joe’s name may be made to the Ellwood City Area Public Library.
