POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT:
Joseph Taylor, 45, of Wampum, is charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking after an incident in March. According to a criminal complaint, police were dispatched to a residence in Wampum Borough for a reported theft and found the victim whom related his neighbor, Taylor, was at his residence preapring his dinner on March 27th at approximately 5:30 p.m. The victim related that upon making dinner that Taylor proceeded to take two cans of vegtables and a pack of prescription medication off the counter. The victim yelled for Taylor to return the items but Taylor had fled the residence. Police later made contact with Taylor at a later date whom denied taking the cans of vegtables and prescription medications, although he did acknowledge he was at the residence preparing a meal.

DEATH INVESTIGATION:
On May 24th at approximately 5:45pm PA State Police responded to an area of Sharon Bedford Road to assist the Shenango Township Police after a deceased female was discovered in a ditch alongside the roadway. The incident is being investigated by the Troop D Major Case Team. The unidentified female is described as a W/N/F approximately 20-30 years of age, medium build, with should length hair. The female was wearing a multicolored tie-dyed hooded sweatshirt. The female also had a tattoo on her pelvic area. Anyone with information of the identity fo the female is asked to contact PSP Mercer Station at 724-662-6162.

FOUND PROPERTY/DRUGS:
On May 22nd at approximately 2:47 p.m., PA State Police New Castle investigated a report of an abandoned motorcycle on Ellwood Road, Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The motorcycle appeared to be a red Suzuki model TS75 with no registration plate. Anyone with information is asked to contact PA State Police New Castle at 724-598-2211.



ACCIDENT:
Between the hours of 6:30 p.m. on May 21st and 11:30 a.m. on May 22nd, an unknwon vehicle was traveling south in the area of Ellwood Road (PA-65). For unknown reasons, the unknown vehicle went off the roadway to the right, struck a mailbox, destroying it, and then continued onward, fleeing the scene to the south. According to the investigation, the unknown vehicle is consistent with a 2010-2017 GMC Terrain SUV body type. The unknown vehicle would have sustained suspected signifitatn damange to at least the passenger’s side door area. DUI:
Tyler Walker, 22, of Ellwood City, is charged with DUI and Careless Driving after a traffic stop on April 8th. According to a criminal complaint, officers in routine patrol at approximately 11:42 p.m. observed a vehicle cross over the center line several times after making a right hand turn onto 5th Street in Ellwood City. A traffic stop was initiated where police observed Walker without a seatbalt, and with a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath and a bottle of tequila in the center cup holder. Walaker displayed multiple signs of impairment during SFST’s and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.

DUI:
Anthony Agostinelli, 51, of Ellwood City, is charged with DUI, Careless Driving and Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after a traffic stop in March. According to a criminal complaint, and on March 24th at approximately 11:55 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop of a red GMC Sierra for traveling 68mph in a 35mph zone. Police made contact with the operator, Agostinelli, whom showed signs of impairment, and was asked to exit the vehicle. Police noticed a lump in his left pocket for which Agostinelli related it was marijuana. Agostinelli provided consent to search the vehicle resulting in locating a plastic straw containing suspected heroin, aluminum foil with trace amounts of burnt methamphetamines’ in the glove compartment, driver’s side floor and behind the driver’s side seat belonging to Agostinelli. A pink in color Reebok Fanny pack containing a small amount of cocaine and a plastic straw containing trace amounts of suspected heroin or cocaine belonging to the passenger, Amber Louise Perrine, 26, of Ellwood City. Perrine related to having a small bag of dope in her pants. Agostinelli was placed through field sobriety tests and advanced roadside impairment driving enforcement test. Agostinelli was determined to be under the influence of controlled substances.  Perrine is charged with use/possession of controlled substance.
