Martha O. Johnson, 94

Martha O. Johnson,94, of New Wilmington passed away at Shenango on the Green on April 27, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Franklin and Martha (Harrison) Dawson and was born January 14, 1928, in McKeesport

She is survived by her children; Janet A. Minteer and her husband Frank, Robert J. Johnson and his wife Sue, her grandchildren; Matthew C. Steffler and his wife Kelly, Benjamin C. Steffler, great-grandchildren; Abby and Brenna Steffler, her siblings; Lois J. Syphrit and her husband Ted, Glenn Harrison Dawson and his wife June

She was a graduate of Lincoln High School. She met and married her husband Art Johnson in 1948. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and a member of Friendship Class. She was employed over the years at Steele Print Shop in Ellwood City, Riverside High School,  and finally a Companion and Care Giver to the elderly at Jameson Care Center. She enjoyed doing crafts, tending to her flowers, but most of all she loved camping with her family, enjoying trips throughout the US from Florida to Texas to Washington State, many states between! They also enjoyed a monthlong trip through Europe, beginning in Amsterdam with a VW camper. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and Worthy Matron of the Order of The Eastern Star, GAR-PA Auxiliary to the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Arthur “Art” Johnson, her sister; Evelyn V. Lauten, and her brothers; Joseph Franklin Dawson, Jr, and William Edward Dawson.

Friends may call on the family from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Turner Funeral  Home with an additional time of visitation from 1:00-2:00pm on Saturday, April 30, 2022 with a Funeral Service following at 2:00pm at Turner’s, with Reverend John Phipps, officiating.

Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery

Arrangements entrusted to the TURNER FUNERAL HOME located at 6th and Park in Ellwood City.
