Wolves Club Meets, Recognizes Efforts In Sign Replacement

The Ellwood City Wolves Club met on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 and recognized the efforts of the Ellwood City Borough, Ellwood City Lions, Ellwood City Rotary and the Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II in replacing the old “Welcome to Ellwood City” sign located at the intersection of RT 288 and Route 65.

The clubs raised funds to replace the sign. They had been working on the project for three years and raised $18,200 to make it possible.

The new sign was created by Ron Roconn of Sign Innovations of Zelienople, PA.

The property owner, Guy DeFonde, was contacted and assisted in the project. Jeff Blank of Blank Concrete supplied the cement for the project. The Borough assisted in removing the old sign (which was set up by the Jaycees) development of the space as well as lighting the sign.
