Eileen Kirkham, 88

Eileen Kirkham of Ellwood City passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at age 88. She was surrounded by love and family to the end, just as she was throughout her beautiful life. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Charles Kirkham, their three children, Brad Kirkham, Shari (Brian) Robinson, and Dave (Elvy) Kirkham, her sister Nancy Mathieu, her grandchildren, Brett Watson and Austin Robinson, and her many nieces and nephews.
Born on June 12, 1933, Eileen attended Lincoln High School and graduated in the class of 1951. She held various careers throughout her life, formerly being employed at the U.S. Steel Corp as well as owning and operating her own beauty salon for over 25 years before retiring in 1996.
Eileen was a prolific traveler, reader, and a gifted artist, and she leaves behind the beautiful paintings, quilts, cross-stitches, and crocheted pieces that she created until the very end. She was particularly skilled at painting ceramics, which she’d done since 1987.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church community in Ellwood City for 70 years. In that time, she served on many groups, committees, and administrative boards… maybe none more important to her than her work with friends as part of the “Apple Dumpling Gang” or the church’s quilting circle.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Frances Reynolds Reinheimer, her brothers and sisters-in-law William and Rose Hollencamp and Paul and JoAnn Reinheimer, her brother-in-law Frank Mathieu, and her daughter-in-law Patti Kirkham.
Her life was full and happy. Above all, she wanted it known that her family and the love and experiences she shared with them brought her the most joy of all. The Kirkham family would like to thank the staff of Encompass Health Rehab of Sewickley for their excellent compassionate care.
The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City
