POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT W/ DEADLY WEAPON:
On April 1st, Chippewa Police responded to Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Township, Beaver County for a shots fired call. Upon arrival, at approximately 4:30 p.m., it was determined that known juvenile, of Darlington, fired multiple shots at two male victims while they were in the parking lot of the business on Blackhawk Road. One of the rounds fired by the known juvenile struck an occupied structure. The police asked PA State Police to assume responsibility of the investigation. No injuries were reported. Felony charges were filed against the known juvenile who currently has an active arrest warrant. Anyone with additional information about this case should call the PSP Beaver at 724-774-7400

HARASSMENT:
Police were dispatched to a 48-year-old female residence on Beaver Dam Road, New Galilee on April 3rd regarding a road rage harassment incident. According to the report, and at approximately 4:15, the victim related a red Chevy Silverado has been speeding on her road for a while and she was able to follow the truck to obtain the license plate. While following the vehicle they both stopped at a stop sign during which she and the male driver exicited their respective vehicles. The victim related the male, identified as a 39-year-old male from Enon Valley, spit in her face and left the scene. Upon further investigation, the male driver of the red truck was identified and he denied that he ever exited the vehicle. This investigation is ongoing.

THEFT BY DECEPTION:
A reported incident occurred a month ago whereas a 64-year-old female from New Castle received a letter from the unemployment office indicating that she was denied for unemployment benefits. The victim reported it to the fraud hotline due to the fact she has not field for unemployment in nearly 60 years. The victim then received another letter from the unemployment office within the last week indicating that she was approved for the benefits. The investigation is ongoing.



TERRORISTIC THREATS:
Danile Martin, 43, of Ellwood City, is charged with Terroristic Threats and Resisting Arrest after an incident on April 2, 2022. According to the criminal complaint, and at approximately 3:00 p.m., ECPD officers responded to a residence on Fourth Street to find Martin, who had an active mental health warrant for his arrest, at the residence with his father. Officers approached the residence in an attempt to service the warrant on Martin, but when police announced themselves Martin threw items around the house and ran out the front door. Police pursued Martin and after confrontation were able to tackle Martin to the ground on the roadway near the intersection of Fourth Street and Lawrence Avenue. Police back-up arrived to help gain control of Martin who continued to actively resist commands from police. Police were able to handcuff Martin and transport him to a nearby hospital via ambulance.

DUI:
Brian Flanary, 53, of Ellwood City is charged with DUI after a traffic stop on April 3, 2022. According to the criminal complaint, and at approximately 3:33 p.m., ECPD were dispatched to a reckless driver in the area of the Oak Grove Inn, on Portersville Road. A caller reported a Nissan SUV swerving all over the roadway heading into Ellport Borough. Responding police found the SUV struck several mailboxes on Golf Avenue and finally was located in an alley behind Burns Avenue. A traffic stop ensued where police found Flanary to be clearly intoxicated with an open container in his cup holder. Flanary failed his field sobriety test. Flanary is charged with DUI, Careless Driving, and Property Damages.

DUI:
Michael Dusheck, 58, of Portersville, is charged with DUI and Criminal Trespassing after an incident on March 17 at a residence in Portersville. According to the criminal complaint, and at approximately 10:28 p.m., a 55-year-old female victim contacted PA State Police and advised her ex-husband showed up at the residence after being evicted from the property and was hiding underneath of a truck on the property. Upon arrival, the involved vehicle was observed in the driveway with the driver’s door open, headlights on, and several cans of open beer through the passengers compartments. Police located and interviewed Dusheck whom related he arrived at the residence because he wanted to talk to his ex-wife. During the interview police observed Dusheck was unable to maintain balance and had glossy eyes. Dusheck was placed into custody and transported to a nearby hospital for a blood draw.

DUI:
Dorthea Pander, 63, of New Castle, is charged with DUI and Careless Driving after a traffice stop on April 3rd. According to a criminal complaint, at approximately 9:50 p.m. ECPD responded to a motor vehicle accident in front of the Shelby Bar, Fountain Avenue, Ellwood City. Police found Pander, whom was the operator of a Ford Ranger truck that struck a parked car and whom was possibly under the influence. While speaking with Pander police detected a strong odor of alcohol and was asked to perform a field sobriety test for which she failed.
