Ellwood City Band Bash will host “An Evening with Morgan Gruber” at Koehler Brewery Pub on April 9.
Along with Gruber, local bands The Leftovers, Mac ‘n Nat, and Rover will play. Cost is $10 at the door. Concert goers will have a chance to meet Gruber, get an autograph, and buy Morgan branded gear. Bands will start at 4:30. Minors Under 21 must be accompanied by a Parent or Legal Guardian.
“All the money raise will go directly to the fireworks and to Morgan such a great way to support both causes,” said Event Organizer Eric Rayner. “I’m super excited to get to put this event together in partnership with Morgan and her family it’s gonna be a great opportunity to raise money for the fireworks and put some money in her pocket to support her music career.”
Gruber, 17, Fombell, is an American Idol season 20 contestant. The American Idol contestant was 13 when she started taking vocal technique lessons from local instructor Mary Ann Mangini. She has not recorded many songs, but she does have experience in publicly singing the National Anthem on occasions like It’s All About The Warrior functions at Shakespeare’s Restaurant in North Sewickley Township and also with the New Castle Playhouse Mini-Stars.
On March 28 Gruber posted on Facebook encouraging her followers to watch her upcoming performances, “I made it to the next round! If you thought this round was intense, you won’t believe #Duets! Tune in next Sunday and Monday to @AmericanIdol to see who makes it out of #HollywoodWeek and into the #Top24! Wish me luck!!”
The twentieth season of the reality show singing competition American Idol premiered on February 27, 2022 on the ABC television network. Gruber took Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, American Idol judges by storm with her performance.
Rayner said he is pleased to have the opportunity to add Gruber to the lineup.
“I’ve been working on putting music festivals together in the area for several years now,” he said. “It’s super exciting to see someone from our area find tremendous success and I am excited to help her celebrate that.”
