Catherine E. Procopio, 79

Mrs. Catherine E. Procopio, 79, of Chewton passed away on Monday, March 28th, 2022 at her sons residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Procopio was born in Ellwood City on May 22nd, 1942 to the late Lloyd D. and Mabel B. (Wise) Kelly. She had graduated from Shenango High School with the class of 1960, and is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish. Catherine had worked at the 1st Street Bakery in Ellwood City, New Model Bakery in New Castle, and at Hillview Manor from 1983 until retiring in 2002 in the laundry department. She also worked as an Avon Lady for three years. She loved spending time with her family, and will be remembered for her delicious baked beans.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel A. Procopio whom she married on August 27th, 1960, daughter, Lisa Pogozelec of West Pittsburgh, sons, Dino (Debbie) Procopio also of West Pittsburgh and Marc (Anna) Procopio of South New Castle, grandchildren, Kylie (Hunter) Beachem, Kayla Procopio, Alyssa (Josh) Fette, Toni (Sam) Carosi, Nick Pogozelec, Lucas Procopio, Rachel Procopio, Kindal Procopio, Jennifer (Bruce) Smith, and Benjamin (Heather) Aiken, great-grandchildren, Hayden, Raylen, Emma, Lila, Luci, Greyson, Ivy, Sumner, and Webber. She is also survived by her brother, Lloyd E. “Bud” (Judy) Kelly of Wayne Twp..

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Violet and Johnny Minteer, and brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Arliss Kelly.

Family and friends will be received at the Holy Redeemer Church on Friday from 10:15 am until the time of the Memorial Mass at 11:00 am with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc..
