Eugene Gaul, 85, of Ellwood City, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Butler Health System.
Born on July 11, 1936 in Ellwood City, Gene was the son of the late Ignatz and Mary Kish Gaul. He married the former Karolina Platzer on January 29, 1957. Gene retired as an insurance agent for Prudential. A member of the Ellport Presbyterian Church, he was also an active member and past president of the Ellwood City Lions Club. He was a Veteran of the US Army and a member of the Hungarian Club. Gene enjoyed hunting, he also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his wife and family.
Gene is survived by his wife, Karolina Gaul, four children, Daniel (Cynthia) Gaul of Beaver Falls, Tom (Betty) Gaul of Slippery Rock, Jodi Pensy of Ellwood City and Eric (April) Gaul of Ellwood City, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Alice Rossi and Mary Ann Vanmeter, both of North Carolina and Eleanor Pratt of Ellwood City.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Dobi and two brothers in infancy.
Friends will be received on Friday, February 25th from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM with Pastor Charlene Kennedy, celebrant. Private interment will take place in Locust Grove Cemetery.
