October Studios, a full-service recording studio located in Ellwood City, is hosting an upcoming ‘Battle of the Bands’ event with a chance for participating bands to win some serious cash.
The live music event will be held at local entertainment/sports lounge, The Tee Box, on Saturday, February 26th beginning at 8:00 p.m. The event is for ages 21 and over.
The event took submissions through the final months of 2021 and a panel of judges made the final selections.
“We had upwards of 50 submissions,” said October Studios owner Rick Fleischer.
The four finalists include the following with special guest, Pushing Apollo, performing after the competition.

The bands will have 30-minute sets with no more than one cover song.
This is the first event October Studios is sponsoring.
“If it goes well we might do more in the future,” says Fleischer. “All of the bands participating in the competition are good and it should be a fun evening.”
Cash prizes and studio time are being award to the top three bands.
Prizes:
- 1st place: $1000 cash and $1000 of studio time
- 2nd place: $500 cash and $500 of studio time
- 3rd place: $250 cash and $250 of studio time
