Mr. Frank “Cheech” B. Fotia, 83, of Ellwood City passed away on January 3rd, 2022 at Jameson Hospital.
Cheech was born on March 17th, 1938 in Ellwood City to the late, Ralph and Mary (DeMasse) Fotia. He attended Lincoln High School, and worked at the Babcock and Wilcox Companies for 20 years in yard shipping. For a short period, Cheech also was the owner and operator of Cheech’s Car Center on the corner of Fifth street and Wampum Avenue where 711 is today. A man of faith, Cheech was a member of Holy Redeemer Church, where he served as an usher and as part of the Special Activities Group. He was a quiet, simple man who adored his wife, and his family. Cheech enjoyed gardening, cooking, antiquing, and wood working. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Frances Joy (Folino) Fotia whom he married on February 11th, 1961, his daughters, Gina Usner of Center Township, Gemma (Ronnie Evans) Fotia of Monaca, Crista (Vinny) Gagric of Center Township, and Pia (Tom) Sylvester of Evans City, his grandsons, Roman and Renzo Sylvester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Anna Marie Radice and his brother, Vincent Fotia.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5th from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, January 6th at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
