How long have you played basketball? I have played basketball for eleven years now.
Why do you like playing basketball? I like to play basketball because it is a challenging game and it requires a lot of skill to be good at, which I respect. I love playing team sports as well, because it is much more rewarding winning, learning, and playing as a team rather than individually. I love growing a bond with my teammates each year. I appreciate that there is a strategy that goes into the game but you can also play the simple game.
Do you have any plans for after graduation? I plan to attend a college or university but am undecided in my choice as of right now.
How have you, your coach, and team prepared for the season ahead? Our team has been preparing the last few weeks for the season by learning the fundamentals of Coach Drake’s program. She does great integrating each play or defense into our team one step at a time. Our team is young, so the program is new to a lot of us, but everyone really puts the effort in to learn and we have already caught on well. I know that each girl on our team is on the team because they want to be there and benefit the team as best they can. I am excited to see how the season goes for us and how we grow as a team.
