Joseph J. Barberio, 82

Joseph J. Barberio, 82, of Cranberry Township, passed away at UPMC Passavant on Monday, November 15, 2021.

Born in Ellwood City on March 26, 1939, Joseph was the son of the late George T. and Abigail M. Hughes Barberio.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Theresa Hullihan on December 15, 2011.  They were married on April 17, 1982.  Joseph worked as a Computer Technician and later in management for RCA, Telex and Wang.  He retired from Erie Insurance.  Joseph was an active member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church where he was a member of the Blessing Fund.  He was a veteran of the Army serving from 1958 through 1964. He enjoyed working on his family genealogy and his lunches with his cousins.

Joseph is survived by his step-daughters, Regina (Craig) Tilhou of Virginia Beach, VA and Maraline T. May of Ellwood City, 3 step-grandchildren, Marissa May, Brooke Roper and Jack Tilhou, a step great-granddaughter, Mia, his brother, Jack (Mary Ann) Barberio of Ft. Collins, CO and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and wife, Joseph was preceded in death by a brother, G. Thomas Barberio and 3 sisters, Margaret Ann Barberio, Gayle Balin and Helen Barberio.

Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport, on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Cranberry Township on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 10AM with Father John P. Gallagher officiating. Entombment will follow in the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Barberio’s name to the Lincoln High School Class of 1957 endowment fund by mail with a notation “EC ’57 Scholarship,” to the Beaver County Foundation at PO Box 569, Beaver, PA, 15009.
