Carol J. Pistachio, 74, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.
Carol was born in Ellwood City on May 17, 1947 to the late Samuel R. and Lucy (Armalinda) Pistachio. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1965, and later earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Slippery Rock University. Carol worked for Penn State University, Beaver Campus as a librarian. She is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish, and was a volunteer for the Ellwood City Historical Society. She enjoyed reading, music, and history.
Carol is survived by her sisters, Rosemarie (Gino) Putrino of Endicott, NY and Barbara (Clint) Couse of Warren, PA, brothers, Arthur (Lori) Pistachio of New Castle, Joseph (Margaret) Pistachio of Riverview, FL, and Samuel (Linda) Pistachio of Mechanicsville, MD, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Lucille Pistachio, and brothers, David, John, and Kenneth Pistachio.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
