Phyllis Flinchbaugh Foley, 84

Phyllis Flinchbaugh Foley, 84, formerly of Second Street, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Northview Estates after a long battle with cancer.

Born on May 15, 1937 in Spry, Pennsylvania Phyllis was the daughter of the late Mamie Flinchbaugh Nyoh and George Nyoh. She graduated in 1955 from William Penn High School in York, PA. Phyllis was married three weeks shy of 65 years when her husband Bob preceded her in death in May of 2020. She worked at Mazer’s children’s clothing store for many years and worked part time for both retail store owners Jake Belloff and Libby Miller. She was a seamstress and she was very artistically creative. She was a dedicated family person who loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. In the 1980’s, when Nintendo came out, she decided to not only buy one for herself, but she actually became quite proficient at it so she could play with her grandkids. Phyllis was diagnosed with Stage 4B lung cancer in 2008 and was given six months to live. Both medical treatment and her determination to live resulted in many more years with her family.

Phyllis is survived by her only child, Keith and his wife, Rosina (Rocco) Foley of Wayne Township, her grandson, Patrick (Lauren) Foley of Moon Township and their children, Isabella, Olivia and Bennett, her granddaughter, Casey (Mathew) Lawrence of North Sewickley Township and their children, Dominic and Gionni. She leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Dolly Foley of New Castle and Joanne Tritt of Katy, TX along with numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved mother-in-law Margaret and a sister Doris Kile Brillhart.

Per the request of the deceased, funeral arrangements were private and entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport. Interment took place in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
