Mrs. Catherine “Cathy” A. Balser, 73, of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.
Mrs. Balser was born on December 16, 1947 in Ellwood City to the late Joseph and Mary (Zona) Baros. She had graduated from the Purification BVM Elementary School and Lincoln High School with the class of 1965. Cathy had worked for Dom’s IGA, the U.S. Steel Tube Mill, Ellwood City Transit (Zona’s Busing), and Caputo Insurance Agency in Beaver Falls. She is a life-long member of the Holy Redeemer Church. An avid golfer, Cathy is a past president of the CB Golf League at Del-Mar Golf Course. She cherished time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years , Jerry E. Balser whom she married on October 19, 1968, daughters, Jere (Ken) Pittner and Kathleen (Joe) Rocco both of Marietta, GA, grandchildren, Abby Rocco, Ava Rocco, Broc Pittner, Mac Pittner, Ainslee Pittner, and her beloved dog, Andy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Joseph R. Baros.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Cathy’s name may be made to the Autism Society.
