POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON:
According to a PA State Police report, Katelyn Weller, 26, and Lindsey Weller, 25, both of Ellwood City have been arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after an incident on September 13 at approximately 6:34 p.m. According to the report, PSP New Castle was dispatched to an assault which occurred on West Lawrence Avenue. The 27-year-old victim related that the both Weller females entered his garage, hit him over the head with a rock, continued to assault him and cause property damage within his garage. Troopers then preceded to the suspects resident to conduct interviews. The two arrestees were uncooperative and refused to cooperate with troopers on scene. Both were placed under arrest for the assault charges as well as assault on a police officer.

THEFT BY DECEPTION:
According to New Castle Police, and on August 14, 2021, a 56-year-old female from Ellwood City reported an unknown actor obtained her personal information and opened an account through Wells Fargo. The victime contacted the bank and filed a fraud report. The case remains under further investigation by New Castle Police.

SIMPLE ASSAULT, HARASSMENT:
According to a criminal complaint, Justin Norris, 43, of Wampum, is charged disorderly conduct, simple assault, and harassment after an incident on August 31st. According to the report, at approximately 3:23 a.m. on August 31st, police responded to a incident at a residence where a victim related that Norris became argumentive and physically aggressive, breaking things around the residence, and hitting the victim’s head off a window. Police observed a small abrasion with fresh blood consistent with that of a recent physical injury. Police later interviewed Norris at the residence where Norris claimed the victim must have injured herself. Upon his arrest, Norris became verbally and physically resistant with police. Both the victim and Norris were evaluated by EMS but refused further treatment. Both parties refused to complete statement forms.

OPERATION ‘FORGOT ABOUT DRE’:
On Friday, September 10, 2021, Detectives from the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Special Investigation Unit, Office of the Attorney General, New Castle City Narcotics and Union Township Police executed a search warrant on 1614 South Jefferson, the residence Andre “Dre” Jackson. The following items were seized from the residence: 32.3 grams of suspected heroin, 20.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 4 grams of suspected cocaine, 785 grams of suspected marijuana, 2 digital weigh scales, 1 American Tactical AR pistol, $2,665 U.S. currency and a 2010 Maserati. Mr. Jackson has been lodged in the Lawrence County Jail and is facing multiple drug distribution, possession, contraband and person not to possess charges.

OPERATION ‘STARSKY AND HUTCH’:
On September 15, 2021, Detectives from the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Special Investigations Unit, New Castle City Narcotics, Union Township Police and the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at 611 Allen Street, Apt 2, the residence of Alvin Perkins, Jr. Once the residence was secured the following items were seized: 1 baggie of 12.15 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 1 baggie containing 4.92 grams of suspected heroin, 1 baggie of 2.86 grams of suspected crack cocaine, $4,101 in U.S. currency, 1 “Point Blank” body armor, 1 9mm stolen handgun with 2 loaded magazines and 1 digital weigh scale. The occupants of the residence, Alvin Perkins, Jr., and Riley Rosta were taken into custody and charged with several narcotics and firearm violations of Pennsylvania law.
