BATTER UP! The 70th Ellwood City Little League Tournament will begin on Tuesday night at Freidhoff Field. The tournament, which began in 1952, is the second oldest Little League tournament in the country next to the Little League World Series which is in its’ 74th season.
Ellwood City will meet Neshannock at 6:00 PM and Riverside will meet Shenango at 8:00 PM. Ellwood City has won the last two titles with a 10-8 victory over Riverside last season and a 4-2 win over Mars in 2019.
Ellwood City has the most championships with 14. Beaver Falls, which plays on Wednesday night, is second with 10 titles. New Castle is third with seven crowns and Riverside fourth with five banners.
