Mrs. Nancy Jean Straessley, 86, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Straessley was born in Ellwood City to the late Peter and Veronica (Sibol) Sokoloski on October 23, 1934. She had graduated from Lincoln High School and is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish. For many years she worked as a sales clerk for Gene’s Jewelers, and later as a caregiver for Home Instead. She was an avid reader and loved animals.
She is survived by her daughter, Joni (Edward J.) Meiter of North Sewickley Twp., grandchildren, Braden (Tiffany) Meiter, and Brittany (Evan) Pettibon, great-grandchildren, Rian and Nate Pettibon, and her sister, Elizabeth Rice of Bellevue.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William T. Straessley whom she married on April 16, 1955 and passed away on February 12, 2005, her sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Kenneth Stantling, and her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marge Sokoloski.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until the time of the Blessing Service at 7:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. Inurnment will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Straessley’s name may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society.
