Mildred “Mimi” Statti-Salapak, 101

Mrs. Mildred “Mimi” Statti-Salapak a lifelong resident of Ellwood City, passed away Friday July 9th, 2021 at the Grove of New Castle Rehabilitation Facility in New Castle, Pa. She was born November 9, 1919 in Ellwood City, PA. She was the daughter of the late Primo S. and Teresa A. (Mucci) Spagiare. Both her parents immigrated from Northern Italy (Primo-1896 and Teresa-1909) to the Pittsburgh (Bridgeville) area prior to moving to Ellwood City in 1917. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1938 and attended beauty school and was a beautician in her early years. She also worked as a waitress at McDowell’s Hotel, a hostess at the old Holiday Inn, Aurora’s Catering, and privately, as a personal caregiver. She was for many years a member of both the St. Agatha and BVM Churches and more recently the Living Manna Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Lagana, of Ellwood City; grandson, Robert (Heidi) McDowell of Woodbridge, Va.; granddaughter, Michelle Price of Glen Burney, Md.; granddaughter, Carly Statti of Ellwood City, granddaughter, Kim Dilullo of Jacksonville, FL; grandson, Frank Lagana of Ellwood City and nephew Jim Dowd (Rachel) of Loveland, Co. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren (James, Leah, Nathan, Chris, Brittney, RaShon and Taiya), 9 great-great grandchildren and many good friends and relatives. She also kept the Spagiare and Mucci families/relatives close in her heart.

She had a deep faith in Jesus, “through him everything was possible”. She loved her family, cooking, watching classic movie starlets, soap operas and working on crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parent’s, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Margaret Esposito of Loveland Colorado in 2018; daughter, Connie A. Statti in 2011; 2nd husband, Michael Salapak in 1986; 1st husband, Louis Anthony Statti in 1963; brother, Raymond Spagiare in 1919; sister, Lena Spagiare in 1916 and a niece, Darlene Selby in 2008.

She will be greatly missed!!! Thanks to all special friends and relatives who kept her in your prayers, you know who you are.

Public visitation will be held on Friday, July 16th from 2pm until the time of memorial service at 4pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc
