Helen Grant, 97

Helen E. Grant, 97, of Beaver, died on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver. She was the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Russ) Chima and was born July 13, 1923, in Ellwood City

She survived by her children; Mark Grant of Indiana, PA, and Rebecca Grant Ankrom (Michael) of Beaver, one grandchild; Markie (Jake) Weeden, siblings; Eleanor (Vaughn) Irwin of Monroeville, Ruth (Robert) Risinger of Cecil, Sally (Thomas) Tomb of Mt. Lebanon, brother-in-laws; Donald Dukelow of Mt. Lebanon, Ralph Grant, sisters-in-law; Ev Wolfe of Green, OH, and Erma Grant of Akron, OH, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Helen attended Lincoln High School. During World War II, she worked at Curtis-Wright as a welder. She met and married the love of her life, David Grant, in 1954. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great cook, and avid gardener. She was a member of Park Alliance Church in Ellwood City. She also worked at Akron City Hospital in the Medical Library and retired after some years.

She was predeceased by her husband; of 58 years, David R. Grant, sisters and brothers-in-law; Irene (Wesley) Morar, Mary (Raymond) Greenwood, Valeria Dukelow, Richard (Midge) Grant, Paul Grant, Gerald (Gladys) Grant.

Friends may call on the family on Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, at Turner Funeral Home with a Funeral Service following at 12:00pm, at Turner’s, with Pastor John McCready, officiating.

Interment will follow in Wurtemburg Cemetery, in Wayne Twp.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations, in Helen’s name, to the Salvation Army at https://give.salvationarmyusa.org or at your local Salvation Army location.

Arrangements entrusted to the TURNER FUNERAL HOME located at 500 6th Street in Ellwood City.
