Anastasia M. Groves, 88, of Wampum passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born August 18, 1932 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella Modliszewski Zak. She was married to Lawrence E. Groves. He passed in 1996.
She was a member of the Polish White Eagles, Red Hats, Amvets, and the New Castle Eagles Club. Anastasia loved gardening, camping, sewing, and playing bingo. Her most cherished moments were spent with family.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah (Harry) Altman of Navarre, FL, Susan (Carl) Latimer of Ellwood City; three sons, Lawrence (Jacqueline) Groves of Youngstown, Timothy (Susan) Groves of Boardman, Thomas (Sedora) Groves of Wampum; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Stella Sniezek of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Lawrence; long time companion, John Damato; six brothers, and four sisters.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday June 23, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday June 24, 2021 at 10:00 am at Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating.
Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
