PART 1: The Lincoln High School Musical Returns!

[This is the first of our 2-Part Series spotlighting the Annual LHS Musical]

After more than a year, the lights are back on in the Lincoln High School auditorium for four musical performances of The Addams Family this coming weekend.

Performances are Friday, March 26th at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 27th at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 28th at 2 p.m.

There are still tickets left to see the show in person and tickets for the live stream are also available. All tickets are sold online at: lhspa.booktix.com.

Because of the capacity limits for indoor events, only 100 people can be in the audience for each performance and groups will be at least 6′ apart. Parents of the cast were given first opportunity to purchase tickets to see the show in person and there are still tickets available.

Before the school year started, the choral directors and musical directorial team created a safety plan that was in accordance with the school’s state-approved safety plan. This year, unlike any years prior, students were required to have their temperatures taken and sign in to every rehearsal, be socially distanced in rehearsal rooms, and always wear masks.

“We have done everything we could to keep students and families safe during this time,” said Senior High Choral Director Felecia Greco.

The cast will be wearing clear masks for the performances so that everyone is protected and the audiences can still see the cast member’s face.

“Making these changes has been a little bit of a challenge but the students and directors all believe that it is well worth the effort to be able to perform our musical after more than a year of not doing any performances,” added Greco.

The Addams Family: A New Musical Comedy, based on the book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, is a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare.

Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

“The musical cast is so excited to be performing once again in this hysterical musical comedy,” concluded Greco.
